In The Spotlight is a weekly showcase of art created with a particular iconic character in mind. These characters, fictional or real, are from famous literature, film, or various other forms media. What they all have in common is that they have an impact on artists and provide them with inspiration.

Kate Eaton is a Canadian model who is also involved in hosting, acting and film making. She was discovered while working in a completely unrelated field several years ago and has since appeared on magazine covers, billboards and runways across the world. She credits the bulk of her success to being “almost six feet call and kind of weird looking”. Kate is known for her cheekbones and high-end look. Her specialties include high fashion, hair and beauty work.

She has also written, directed, produced, edited and starred in numerous independent films over the years. Kate is currently working on a new television series that will be unveiled in late 2011.

Kate currently resides along the side of a river in rural Eastern Ontario (a.k.a. The Middle of Nowhere) but splits her time between the lake and various fashionable cities for work. Her other interests include snowboarding (at which she is a “semi-retired, semi-professional”), boating, dirt biking, snowmobiling, travel and anything else that comes up and seems like a good time.
